Conductive Carbon Black

Conductive carbon black - it's different from black carbon.

Conductive carbon black may be easily confused with black carbon. The names are indeed very similar but there are many important differences. Carbon black is almost completely composed of actual carbon. Black carbon is much more like soot in that carbon actually only accounts for at most 60% of the compound and it can be even less. Black carbon is also ash-heavy, as with soot the ash content of black carbon can be over 50%. Unlike carbon black, black carbon can cause severe environmental problems by trapping heat, exacerbating climate change. It also causes serious issues with the respiratory system in humans (particularly children) and also in animals.
